Beer Simmered Barbecue Beans

Ingredients

(15 ounce) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
|

(15 ounce) cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
|
|
|

beer
|
|
|
| 1/2 |
cup |
barbecue sauce
|
|
|
| 2 |
|
small jalapeno peppers, seeds removed and minced (optional)
|

|
| 1 1/2 |
teaspoons |
ground cumin
|
|
|
| 1/2 |
teaspoon |
black pepper
|
|
|
| 1/4 |
teaspoon |
salt
|

fresh cilantro
|
|
|
Directions:
In a large saucepan saute onion until soft; add garlic and saute one minute longer.
Add pinto beans, kidney beans, beer, barbecue sauce, jalapeno pepper, cumin, black pepper and salt.
Bring to a low boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook for 20 minutes until sauce thickens and beans are heated through, stirring occasional
Serve with fresh cilantro.
